HALLOWEEN - WITCH'S SECRET ROOM - Things that were done

Hello Everyone!
Hope all is well.

Thought I would show you what
has been done on the
witch's secret room.

All of the outside has been painted
black.
Still have the lid to be painted
black but will do that later.
The inside was painted green
to just make it look more colorful.

I had to search for book shelves and that
took a lot of time.
I didn't want to spend any money on it
because the room is supposed to be from
stuff she had found that hopefully
holds some meaning to them.

I remembered after a search of looking
around the net that I had a garden
bookcase given to me by one of the
ladies of the mini group.
It was so cute so I placed it inside
of the box.
It was so cute and was made of
cardboard that had a pretty paper
glued to it.
It was not very sturdy, but thought that
this would  work and could be great for the room.

It works! Looks like it was made for the
space.
Had to paint it to get rid of the roses
look to it.

Before painting, I decided to make a
shelf look like it was getting ready to
break.
I just took a random shelf.

I painted over this as you can see in the
pic a purple color.
I kind of liked the pinkish look to the
shelves but decided I would paint over
with purple to hid some of the roses
but that didn't even cover them liked I had
hoped for.
The purple color sure is an eye catcher,
but way to colorful for this room.
So, back to painting the shelves another color
on top to cover before deciding the
color I want it to be.
The purple has to be toned down a lot
before going into the room.

I made the desk area in the back along with
the shelves from thick brown cardboard.
Then ran a little bit of black across them
to give them a little bit of age.
I like the way it looks and might think
about making some more stuff out of
cardboard.

Hope you got some ideas here and
enjoyed seeing what I had done.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting me.
