BEDS - A Daybed that I made!

I thought that I needed a daybed,
turns out that I did not need one at all.

Perhaps I will use it one day in a
room setting or a dollhouse.

I do not have any directions on
how to make it.

I made it out of foam core board.
Then printed some pics off of
the net that looked like white boards
and glued the paper on.

I think that you get the gist of it.

I used a nubby puffed blouse for the pillows
and the cover.

This is the back that will be against
the wall.
Doesn't look too bad.

Underneath the bedding is paper over the
foam core board.

This is the width of the bed skirt I used.
It was made from piece of a cotton that had
a ruffle on the edge.

Here is the length.
I did not hem any of it.
All I did was just turn under any raw
edge so you could not see it.
Then placed it on the bed.
The mattress will cover it
anyway.

For the mattress, I took another piece
of foam core board and cut it to
fit the bed.
I cut 2 pieces of cream/white felt and
wrapped it around the foam core board.
Glued it on.

Apartment Elizabeth - Changed Her Furniture Around Again!

Yep, I went and did it.
I did it again!
Moved Elizabeth's furniture
around till I came up with this!

Hope it looks better.
I do not know if this will work or not.
We'll see!

I like the kitchen, just dislike how you cannot see
it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Apartment Elizabeth - Elizabeth has moved in!!

Elizabeth has moved in!!

Elizabeth's apartment seems to be okay.
Let's hope I like it enough to where
it stays this way.

This is the entire apartment with the front door
glued in place.
I had to build a side and top wall to hold
the door.
Honestly I put in and I take back out again.

Not sure if I like the sink and stove hiding
the table and chairs.

I thought I would start with the kitchen.
I grouped the sink and stove together and put
the refrigerator in the corner near the window.
There is a black bakers rack that stands against
the window.
No cabinets yet above the sink.
Must know if this arrangements is going to
stay like this first.

A view from the cradle to see the table and
chair.

Another view of the bakers rack from the
living room windows.

This seems to be better.

The living room furniture is really nice.
Perhaps to nice for little kids.

A piece of the brick wall is bare.
Something needs to go there.

The cabinets seem to be in the wrong area.

Looking thru the window.
I moved the curio cabinet closer to the TV unit.
I feel that it does not make a difference.

Sofa area.

A view from the living room windows looking
towards the bed area.

Groceries set in a chair.
Elizabeth does not care.
She stays in bed all day holding
dear Hank.

Looking in a window that has not
been glued in yet.

When Elizabeth gets tired and sleepy,
she lays Hank in his little wicker bassinet
which is on the end table beside her.
And she drifts off to sleep.

There is Hanks little wicker bassinet.

A close up of Elizabeth and Hank.

As soon as Hank gets bigger, he will sleep in
this cradle.

A view of the front door.
Elizabeth can see who enters in.

The window is not glued in beside
the twin girls bed.
Peek in!

A view of the twin's bunk beds.
The door is not here only because
I was making a trial run to make sure
that the front door would work in this
spot.

The twins are not dressed, nor have
any hair yet.

Here, the apartment is missing the
front door.
I think that I must change this room around
again!!

Thanks for stopping by!

ROOMBOX - Bought at an Estate sale - Country Store

This was a good find!
And an unexpected one.
My daughter Pep, Lynda
and myself decided to go out
thrifting!

We came across an estate sale.
I had never been to one before,
so we decided to stop in.
The house was beautiful!!
It was packed with so many
cars in the yard and so
many people were inside looking
over the lovely things.

I walked into the dining room and
admired the lovely linens.
They were definitely too rich for
my blood!
And as I looked around the room, there
in a corner laid this wooden
room-box.
It was on the floor.

The price tag said $30.00.
I was so thrilled to find some
miniatures!
Not long after I found it,
we decided it was time to leave.
It was clear that there was more thrifting
to be done!

This is what I bought.

 A COUNTRY STORE!

The bookcase on the left side held foods,
pots and few plates.
Lots of goodies here!

I do not understand why the Checkers box
was stuck with tacky wax high on the wall.

A low lying bench that held fruits and food.

All of the dolls are resin.

The bookcase held lots of stuff.

I like the large mirror!
I want to find a use for that
but not necessarily for a store.
I want to use it for something
else, just do not know what
yet.

The little stove was to the right of
the store lady.
She shelf is on the mirror.
The broom and mop were to the right
of the last bookcase.
The other items were over
by the potatoes and onions.

Here is the gent that was sitting beside
the black stove reading his paper.
Apparently the store was his favorite
morning haunts!

I just now realized that I forgot to take pics
of where the stove and this man were located
at.
Reason being was because I had to remove them
in order to take the pics further in.

Thanks for stopping by!

Apartment Elizabeth - Wallpapered and floored

I always find it difficult to start a
new apartment.
So many things to consider about
what colors to use and what you
want the apartment to actually
look like.
Honestly, I probably do not have
any idea!

So many choices out there to use for
wallpaper and floors.
I decided to make Elizabeth's apartment
a little lively!
When I went to the craft store
and looked thru the scrapbook paper,
I fell in love with a lot of
the wallpapers.

It was difficult picking out what
to buy. I ended up leaving with
lots of scrapbook papers!

I purposely left out the windows, so that
as the room fills up, I can still get my
hand in there.
A couple of windows will be the last thing I glue in.

After the wallpapers were glued in, I
glued in my cloth floors.
The cloth floors give a warm homey feeling
to the apartment.

Here is the apartment.
I did wind up putting the
entrance door to the left of the window.

I threw caution to the wind with this apartment.
The left side of the door is wallpapered with words.
I do not know what kind of theme is going on here,
but I absolutely loved this paper!!
Hopefully one day I can advance my skills enough
to turn this apartment into what it should be.
Must do research when time permits.

I do love the collage of sweet words.
Definitely meant for a sweet tenant.
Hey, perhaps Elizabeth's twin girls can learn
to spell and read by them!

I found the brick on the net.
This, I knew I wanted.
It is so realistic!
Just printed it out and glued it to the walls.
I love the warm feeling that it gives to this space.

You can tell on the far wall where one
paper printed out a little lighter than the others.
That happens when you get low on ink!
That's a 'FUTURE FIX' or maybe not!
I have to see about it as I start putting the
furniture in.
As I keep looking at it, I kind of like the way
that the bricks look like they are shifting.
After all, it is an old building.
I might keep this just as it is.
Thanks for stopping by!
