BEDDING - Boyd's Bear Quilt - Cut Down to fit a Miniature Bed

Went to the thrift store, found this
cute little quilt.
Only 50cents - cannot beat that price!!
So I bought it.

I had never heard of Boyd's Bears.
Anyway there was no bear.
Thought that I would just cut it down
to size!

The quilt was lovely!
Pretty colors, nice design,
machine stitched.
But it was big!
Must have been for a big bear.

The red fabric is very pretty!!
Love the paw print in the upper left hand
corner.
See the tag - said 50cents!
Ooo lucky me, I thought!

I believe that this little quilt was hung by a rod.
See the what looks like rod strips.

Blue tag.
This is the color of the backing.
The pic before this one shows it being
very light in color, but it is
not light at all.

I removed the red border all around the quilt.
Also removed the checked fabric that was
beside it.
I cut off a lot of the blue/green fabric on 2
of the sides.
I kept the blue/green fabric on the top and bottom.
That was to bring it down to a
miniature size.

These are the pieces that I took off.
The white pieces you see where inside the
quilt - used as a stabilizer.
For everyone that would be wondering
the quilt was made very well.

When I removed those pieces, I never cut the
back fabric.
I trimmed it some, because I turned in
the raw edges and hemmed it down on the
front side.
I hand stitched it closed.

Thanks for stopping in!

Apartment Elizabeth - Pushing Furniture Around in NEW APARTMENT

Just pushing things around once more!
Might not keep this arrangement, but
it does give me some ideas.

Since the last posting for Elizabeth, I moved things
around again as you can see.
The bed went to the wall, new things came in,
some old went out.
A brass coat tree came in to hold clothes, but
is in the middle of the room.
Also kitchen changed around.

Still looks crowded in the bedroom.

When then tenants walk inside now, surely
they do not get the idea that a hoarder lives here!
It is a little cleaner now, gives room
for a doll to stand near the entrance.

Windows are still free from curtains.
Table has moved up next to these windows.
Corner cabinet has stayed in the same spot.

 Stove is a free-standing unit.
Needs shelves above if it stays here.

Sink and refrigerator have moved to another
wall.
Made room for baby May's high chair.
All in all it looks clean here.

Even since the first pic that I show her of the entire
apartment, Elizabeth's bed has moved again.
The little table and chairs were near the 3 windows.
They are now closer to the front door near this
one window.

I placed the bunk bed nearby.
Allie and Allison are not dressed.
They sleep with their dolls.

Near the bunk-beds is their closet.
I moved the closet from behind the sink
to this area.
Shoes and some toys clutter the floor.

The closet does look good near the window.
Moved the Hallmark dollhouse to this side.

I placed Elizabeth's bed behind the sink and
refrigerator.
I do like the windows so she can look out.

With Elizabeth on the bed you cannot see
the play area.
However, this did give me room to put in a
dresser at the foot of the bed.
The top of the dresser holds Hank's bassinet.
Space for the rocker.
Since the furniture now hugs the walls, it
leaves space for toys in the middle.

Do not like this arrangement either.
You cannot see past Elizabeth and her bed!

The window view from the breakfast table looks
good.
It shows a spacious interior.

APARTMENT PENTHOUSE #2 - BERNICE HAS MOVED IN!

Hello Everyone!

A lady came and looked at the apartment.
Rented it immediately.

Her name is Bernice.

Bernice has moved in!
This is the entire apartment.

The left side of the room when you enter into
the apartment.
As you can see Bernice sits on her white
wicker chaise.
As of yet, no curtains.
Of course she doesn't need any, she being
so high up.
A lovely white fireplace is on the wall.
She contemplates about a mirror or a
painting to go above it.

One of her prized possessions is the lovely
glass piano.
It has been in her family for eons, she only
inherited it recently.
The piano was given to me in 1994 and I have
lovingly treasured it.
It feels great to finally have a home for it.
Behind the piano is the kitchen and a
little breakfast area.
The rug is a sweet doily.
Oops must paint the window and glue it in.
Still need kitchen cabinets above the
stove and refrigerator.

Someone is coming over, she has the
coffee cups ready.

The movers brought in her armoire and she
put her things inside.
Afterwards they moved it to the area where
she wanted it to go.

Her little vanity is in now.
She placed her hat pins in her hat
pin container and set it on top of
the vanity.
The movers will soon, place the
vanity where it needs to be.

Okay, the movers placed the vanity and
her armoire close to the door.
They brought in her vanity chair also.
She needs a cushion for it.

This is a porcelain salt shaker
with 3 holes in it.
I fell in love with the set back in 1994 and
had to buy them.
They are the perfect size.
Forgot where I bought the set from.
But for sure they did not cost much!

This is the pepper shaker with 2 holes.
The set is really lovely!

This is the bottom of the salt and pepper shakers.

I just used the pepper shaker to show you the
top of the shaker with the pretty design.

This salt and pepper shakers are the
nightstands that go to the bed.
I have placed 2 matching lamps on them.
The lamps need covering.
The red crochet cover was found at the thrift
store for 50 cents back in 2001.
It was a lucky find.

The shoe boxes beside the bed are old.
I made them back in 1995 and they are showing
their age now.
I painted a pair of Barbie shoes white and
placed it in the box that sits alone on
the floor.
The other 2 shoe boxes also have Barbie shoes
painted and placed inside of them.

The bed as it looks up against the windows.

A set of sheets await to be put on the mattress.
A dividing screen is there for looks but
does shield her bed and her dressing from the
4 windows.
Gives her a little bit of privacy.

The view to the piano by looking thru some
windows.

A pair of white panty hose hangs over the screen.
A purse hangs there also.

Bernice takes a nap in her chaise.
That's a lovely rug that it sets on.

Yep, she snoozes!
Movers left hours ago.

View thru the window from the breakfast table.
The front door has not been put in yet with
this picture but this was a good pic, so
I had to use it here.
I might need a kitchen runner here.

The white wicker screen has been moved
closer to the front door.

 Looks better here.

The pic again take with the front door in place.
And the wicker screen is also shown.

I was able to get a better view this time.
Bernice is sitting up now.
Whoever was coming for coffee still has
not arrived.

The screen hides the shoe boxes and any other
mess that might be back there.

Peeking thru the windows again!

Thank you for stopping by!

BEDDING - Baby Quilt or Wall-hanging - Red Houses

Baby Quilt or a Wall-hanging.

I stitched this back in 1996.
It is completely hand-sewn
on very nice cotton.
The red houses and the hearts are
sewn thru all layers.
There is a very wispy amount of
batting inside.

I see on the edges that a little bit of
the cotton lace is coming out
from the seams.
Ooo need to fix that!

At the time I made this, I did not have
any red bows.
I need to change them.

Enjoy the pics!

APARTMENT PENTHOUSE #2 - MEET BERNICE

Hello Everyone!

MEET BERNICE
Bernice sets all alone pondering if
she has made the biggest mistake of
her life.
She wears her wedding gown.
Her door is locked and she will not be
answering it anytime soon!
See, she decided at the last minute not to
marry him.
She called off her wedding just hours
before it was to take place.
She called from a pay phone
to the church and left a message.
All of the people she knew,
would never be able to see her
again.
She wanted a new life and decided
that this was the way to do it.
Maybe it was something he said, or
maybe not.
Perhaps she got cold feet!
Who knows what the problem
is/was.
Surely she owes him an explanation.
He is such a good guy!
Bernice is so glad that this apartment is miles,
miles away from where she used to live.
In fact - it is a 2 weeks drive away from
where she was supposed to
be married at.
She covered all of her bases very well.
Her plan had been hatched for weeks.
The movers that moved her here were
from a small moving company.
They never brought a moving van into the area,
they came in a rented pick-up truck
and vowed never to disclose any
information about her.
In secret - so to speak.
He will never find her here.
Just in case, she assumed a new identity
under her new name of
Bernice Smith.
A common everyday name
in which every town probably had about
10 people that carried that same name.
She found someone to fake all of the
certificates for her!
They erased her old life.
She does not want to take any chances.
So, now she sits here, hopefully in peace
Soon, she will change her clothes and then
go buy some new ones.
Change her hairstyle completely
and down grade her job.
Work in something totally different.
She is thankful that she would not be leaving
any family behind, as she was an orphan
that grew up in an orphanage.
Or was she?
Keep an eye on Bernice as she will move
again and change her identity.
She will cover her tracks again, in time.
See this apartment that she moved into.
