A Thoughtful Gift

I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO WELCOME EACH
AND EVERY ONE OF MY NEW FOLLOWERS
TO MY BLOG. IF YOU HAVE NOT OR DO NOT
KNOW THAT THERE IS A GIVEAWAY GOING
ON - WELL IT IS STILL ON - SO FIND THE
WICKER SET AND LEAVE A COMMENT.

Catherine over at
is such a thoughtful lady. She
sent to me a gift of miniatures.
Small pots and big pots. Maybe now I can dig in the
dirt without my allergies killing me. Lol's.
The cross stitched Hen with the green apron on is
just adorable. I definitely have to put these barnyard
critters in a little scene with some toile. I am thinking
about taking the tall roosters and making them to
imitate door stoppers. The kitchens do need some
foods. The little sewing machine broke. Kind of
makes me sad. Many times
we have glued it and it still comes apart. So I think
that I am going to cut it away from the base and make
a carrying lid for it. That will look so cute.
A little dummy that is all ready to be used.
The little blue doll is so cute. I might add some
lace to her dress. I like her. I am not sure how old
she is, so I will ask Catherine before I redot
her eye. She is one of my favorites.
I had been looking for some thin gloves for a
long time and was not able to find any. Catherine
sent me a brown pair. Inside they are lined with
some pretty fuzzy cream material. I will have to
be sparing with that fabric. Love that chocolate
brown.
Catherine had been wanting to make me some bed
blankets that looked crocheted and knitted. She took
2 of her sweaters and cut me out doll blankets. A
white one with 2 designs built in and a cream one that
feels so delicate. Every bed needs a blanket under the
comforter!
Look Catherine - you did cut and hem it to the
correct size. See how good they look on Permelia's
bed. They drape nice. Catherine also sent me some
little spools, clothespins and a cat sitting in a
basket. He is removeable. Also 3 little resin pillows
wrapped up by a ribbon. So darling.
My favorite are the 3 little flocked dogs. The cute little white
bishon is adorable. I am not sure what the names of
the other dogs are but they are certainly just as cute.
The little tea set is just a little bit big but I am hoping
that I can incorporate them somehow into a mini room.
The sweaters look so nice on the beds. Of course
they will not stay on the witch's beds. But they will
be used. This is a great idea of using your sweaters
- into bed linens.
This one is the cream blanket.
 This is the white blanket.
Thank you so much Catherine. I like it all.

Apartment Widow Sarah - Widow Sarah's Treasures

A mini life can be anything that
your imagination desires!

Widow Sarah's Treasures.

Widow Sarah was in a hurry to move
into the apartment.
Too many memories that was
making her sad and depressed.
Isn't she young looking to be a widow!
Sarah and her husband had lived in their own
home for over 20 years before his passing.
Poor widow Sarah, she
misses her husband
the handsome 'Bernard' so much!!

Now in her 50s life must settle down
now.
They were the parents of only
one child - she being Hannah.
Hannah has helped her Mother move
into this apartment until some
nicer ones come available in the
building that she lives in.
I hope that time comes soon, cause
widow Sarah is so lonely.

Here, she sits waiting for her
daughter Hannah to arrive so they
can drink tea together.
Sarah is dreading the argument they will definitely
get into.
Hannah has been trying to get her
mother to get rid of one of the beds and some of the
other stuff that is crowding up this sweet little apartment.
Sarah is reluctant to get rid of anymore of her
cherished belongings especially
anything belonging to Bernard!
It is just too soon.

Hannah is sure that all of this dust
could be a health issue.
However, widow Sarah doesn't have the
energy or the gumption needed
to clean anything.

Poor widow Sarah needs a friend.

If you want to see a photo of the
handsome Bernard.
Then just zoom in on the picture that is on
Sarah's vanity.
A couple of curtains are down.
Hannah insisted on taking them down
and washing them at her house.
She will bring them back in a
couple of days.

The vanity is a piece of old
furniture - you know the ugly
cheap kind.
Covered it with pink fabric and some trim.
The mirror is one that widow
Sarah has had for a very long
time.
What you see are widow Sarah's
treasures brought
from her previous apartment
where she lived with her husband
Bernard.

Look at all of the dust on the dresser.
Hannah is right and her Mother knows
it.
She just cant help it.
No energy!
Hannah will come over soon and
dust and clean everything.
What a sweet daughter she is.

There is Bernard's desk.
Every day he
sat there reading the newspaper while
smoking his pipe and figuring out the bills.
Sarah cannot even entertain the idea
of getting rid of his pipes.

One of his pipes dates back
to the 1800's.
It has been in his family for generations.
The pictures beside the
bed never got hung.
Earlier they had been under the bed.
It would be nice to
hang them - but where?
The bed with the brown bedding on it was Bernard's
bed.
They slept in separate beds because of
his health.
Sarah cannot part with his bed.
And it doesn't matter
what Hannah says.
The bed is not leaving this apartment!

The old lace curtains were left
by the previous tenant.
She loves the old look of them.

Widow Sarah brought the red
armchair that used to belong to
Bernard.
Every day Bernard would sit in that red
armchair and look out of a window.
If Bernard was here, he surely would
love this spot to gaze out of the
window.

Widow Sarah did not keep her table
and chairs.
No room for them and
they were broken anyway.
Lots of room
here just for Sarah and some memories
that she needed to keep.

Look at that yummy cake
that Hannah baked yesterday.
Widow Sarah has not even
taken a bite of it.

Another view of the kitchen looking
into the bedroom.
If that dresser was
gone - then you could see the bedroom
better.
But Hannah cannot get Sarah to get
rid of it.
That's a shame.
There could be a lot of room here.

Look inside the window.
The apartment is on the 4th floor
so there isn't any worry about anyone
looking in.
Here you can see Bernard's red
armchair and widow Sarah's chair.
They are still a pair.

Four floors are too many steps
to climb for widow Sarah!
She is glad that she is not staying long.

Take a peek inside the windows.
Can you see
the widow Sarah just sitting
and pining away in her old
blue chair.

Poor baby!
My heart goes out to her!

Please come again to visit me.
Thank you,

TUTORIAL - MAKE FEATHER PILLOWS

Welcome new followers.

Fellow bloggers - your blogs are awesome!!!

Making feather pillows is easy!
I made a pair of these and gave to Marlene
on our swap.
I decided that I needed a pair of these!
I thought if I were going to
suffer thru making feather pillows
that I should make me a pair also.

I love feather pillows - don't you!
Lol's.

It is wonderful to see regular mini pillows
be made into feather pillows!

To make Pillows are rectangle in shape.
No need
for a  pattern - all you do is figure out what
size you want or need.
Fold in half and stitch from the bottom
to the other edge.
Turn the pillow right side out.

To stuff with feathers - Be sure to cut some of
the feathers
because there needs to be
small and large pieces in there.
Stuff really hard!

A little hard to stuff - cause they want to
keep coming out!

Stuff a couple at a time!

  Watch   out  -  flying   feathers!
Lol's

When finished turn under and sew across the
edge.

Zoom in -  to see  feathers peeking out
Thanks for visiting me!

Born Abroad

Marlene of Somerset House of
sent me a goody package. I am happy to be
the recipient of 2 of her cross stitched rugs - the
tiger and the green one in the middle. I know
exactly which apartments are going to get them.
I never learned how to crochet but I love those
items. The blue and green crocheted blanket is
adorable. If I just fold it in half one of my
little dolls can have a shawl.
The christmassy apron is so cute. It has
hearts, a snowman and a gingerbread man on it.
The little white cotton doily will make a nice addition
to my sewing apartment. I will place it under the
cutting table to make that area bright on the wood
floor. When I went to the camper I took the 2
magazines with me. There are some nice things
in those magazines. Can you see the package that is
between the magazine and the cross stitch pattern.
That paper is instructions for inkjet fabric sheets.
With my trusty magnifier glass I read the directions
while at the camper.
Inside of the plastic are 3 fabric sheets.
In a couple of days I plan to check this out.
I do plan on cross stitching the rug pattern as
soon as my eyes heal enough for me to be
able to see the holes in the aida cloth.
All of these items were in a little black compartmented
box. Some of this was wrapped up in tissue paper.
The white tablecloth is so soft. I do not know yet
where I will put it. The cameo's will make nice
needleminders. There are 2 toys for Elizabeth's
children Ally and Allison. They will love them.
The jewelry pieces are really nice. They just might
get a makeover and go into a shabby chic room
that I am thinking of making. Marlene made me
one of her pipe cleaner dogs. I had never seen one
of them before but it is so sweet.
The silk hat was a surprise. It is so lovely.
Thank you very much Marlene.
I do like your package and I am glad to know that
you like mine.
Thank you for visiting me.
Many hugs and kisses sent to everyone,
