My Country Chicken Coop

Hello Everyone!

Sorry, I have been sick.
I caught that crud that was going around.
And it put me down.
A big thank you for all of those that commented
at my last posting.
And I will get to your blog soon!

I made 2 chicken coops, one in 12th scale
and the other in half scale.
I gave the half scale to my sister because
she wanted that.
I am so pleased that she loves it and I
will show you hers at the next posting.

Wanted to show you a 12th scale
Chicken Coop that I made for myself.
This is the first real project that I have
ever made in this type of scale.

I do have to buy some more chickens along with some
other things though!
It is a dirty chicken coop!
Hehehehe!!!
Some of the grey and white paint has weathered
away leaving some bare wood spots.
Window moldings are long gone rotted away.
But this is home to some happy chickens!
Hehehehe!

A little garden of watermelons and cabbages await
the owner to take them indoors.
I made the cabbages, they were not easy.
Did not make the watermelons - bought them
at a cheap price.

This little chicken is playing with a basket.
Yes, chickens like to play!
Hehehe!
What else will he tear up, I wonder?

I made the bucket but these chickens eat everything!
Will put more food inside for them, once it is all
gone.
Hehehe!

See, I am so surprised that the bucket was not
turned over and the contents were on the ground.
Hehehe!

Here is one side and I have some
tools here.
This is the only place the owner has
to store these.
I hope they do not rust!

The door hardly ever closes anymore.

The coop was becoming loose so the owner had
to add some wet cement so that the coop would
not tear away from the base.

In the back I placed a white bicycle.
This is the perfect place to put this bike at!
The owner rides it once in a while.

The roof used to be just a plain metal color but the
weather has played its tole on it.
It now has soot and some rust on it.

Shingles have fell off of the other roof.
It is now down to just the plywood so the owner
not wanting it to look tooo bad, dabbed on what
paint she had lying around and she did this
years ago!!!

The other side of the coop is the chicken house
really.
I took one door and split it in half and cut
a little slit in each door to be used as a means of
pushing the doors open, not caring if the
slits matched up or not.
I wanted to be able to see fully in here.
I put a track over the door and under the
door so the doors would slide freely.
Gee, perhaps I should think about a lock
here in case someone tries to steal some
eggs from my hens?
Hehehe!

I hope you can see in here.
I do love the look.

There is the ladder that goes down
to the play level.
The paint is bad and peeling here
also.

There is a chicken playing in a tire.
However the owner has to rescue him cause
he always gets his feet stuck!!

He is still waiting!
I hope the owner comes soon.

Here is a bad window area with just chicken wire
in it since the window no longer exists.
This is above the nesting box.

Just inside the front door, I made 2 inside food
holders from straws.
See how messy those chickens are!
Yuck - who cleans that mess up!
Am hoping you can see the nail.
The nail goes up and down and I use it to keep
the door closed at night so the chickens do not
get out.
And then in the morning I turn the nail down so
the door opens.
This is how our chicken coop was!
Because our door was hanging off of the hinges!
Hehehe!

We never knew that chickens liked to play so
we never had any things in there for them to
play with.
Also our chicken coop was not this fancy.

See the nail down.

Here is the ladder and the swing.

More light in this image.

The owner was so tired after dragging this
pound of Hen Feed that she just left it
there.

I made the coop so that the roof comes
off in case I want to put something else
in there or hang plants from the rafters.

Here is the nesting box.
Ooo the owners better get out here fast and
get those eggs!

I still have a few things yet to make or to buy.
The chickens need a water bucket among
other things.

I hope you liked looking at my coop!
Thank you for visiting!!

Hidden in the Forest 2 - Finished!

Hello Everybody!

Thank you for your nice comments!

I took the birdhouse scene and did
more work to it.
Figured that it needed more.

New Pics now to show you what I did.

Yes, now I have a bell with wood base
to keep the dust out.
My friend Lesley gave me all of the
foilage and flowers to go to the scene.
She also gave me the skunk and
Tinkerbell.
She is so cute and very tiny!!

Thank you Lesley for all of these
sweet things including tinkerbell!!!

I hope you like the new look!

With the glass bell off.
I didn't say on the last posting, but
I aged the post and the birdhouse
all by myself.
So, I didn't really want to hide all of
that.

Tinkerbell is resting on the leaves
after having long and exhausting flight.
Perhaps she just curls up and goes
to sleep.

A little closer up!

Here you can see some of the base.
I built the wall up a little higher and to me it
looks lots better.
I used air-dry clay and it took about 5
days to dry.
But when it hardened - it was rock hard!!!
I hope you can see where I dented in
some of it to look like concrete.

I still like the little pebble walkway.
I wanted it to look like a little step down
to proceed into the woods, but did not
have enough room to create this vision.
Do you see the skunk!!!

Hope you like the pink flowers and
the flowered ground cover that has
grown up onto the pebbles.

I wanted you to be able to see the skunks
head. Hehehehe

Just a better view of the base and pebbles.

Am turning the base around as I go
to the backside.

I like all of the tall and short flowers
that is now growing up behind the
post.

The post is built up high on this side.
Also to look like that the little
birdhouse is situated on top of a small
hill.

I hope you like the new images!!
Thank you for visiting me!!

Hidden in the Forest 1

Hello Everyone!
Hope all is well!

I finished my birdhouse scene.
I hope you all are getting ready
for Spring!
Had enough of winter!

HIDDEN IN THE FOREST
is titled so because you must
imagine the birdhouse being
in the woods, all alone amidst
the animals and birds.

I tried to make it appear so but I still
wanted you to be able to see the
birdhouse.
I hope you like it!!!

Everything was made by me
except for the dome of course.
Lols!!
The little scene went thru a lot of changes
before I settled with this look!

Front

The little blue birdie.
I think that I should have made the
hole in the birdhouse bigger!
Lols!!

I hope it doesn't look weird.
Perhaps I need more foliage to hide
the birdhouse.
The path narrows on this side.

On this side you can see more of how
the path widened.

Here is the back.
I need perhaps some animals around.

Thank you for visiting me!!

My PRINCESS AND THE PEA roombox

Hello Everyone,

I have been making miniatures.
Hope you like my little Princess and the Pea
scene.

Not very big at all.
The doll is only 2 inches tall.
Measurements of the box are the last
pictures in this posting.

Oops! my box is a little crooked!!
I cut out the front and glued plastic to the
inside.
Didn't want it too fancy on the outside.

I put the little doll together, but had a friend
paint her eyes.
She did a great job. Thank you Mari!
She stands on her own without a doll stand.
Front.

Back

Hope you like the bed.
I put a green pea there.
Actually it is straight pin with a green
ball on it.
Had to leave it hanging out some so you could
see it.

I made this little nightgown and robe
set.
Edged it with narrow gold ribbon and
tiny lace.

Here you can see the straps on the
hanger.

This is the inside while it is sitting
on top of the box lid.

I made the little bed and painted it
green.
Also made each of the mattresses
to go on top.
And the ladder.

Made the pillow and the little coverlet.

I was given the little box by a friend and knew
that I wanted to make a little scene in it.
Am sure everyone has seen these
'Tiffany & Co' boxes.
They come in all sizes.
Here are the measurements of my
tiny box.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my little
Princess!
Thank you for visiting me!!!
