Apartment Daisy - Her apartment finished!

Last night I tried to post and it just
wasn't happening.
Blogger has a mind all of its own sometimes.
Fortunately it is letting me blog today.

Okay, a few more changes have already
taken place since my last posting.
New apartment - with a whole new
look!
Daisy needed some new things.

I have re-made Daisy's hair!!
She has long brown hair now.
Her dress has changed also.
You will see her later towards the end
of the posting, cause
she is still very busy.

I spend a lot of time deciding
what picture to start with.
Do you have that same problem?

I think it is good to always start
with the front door, but somehow
I cannot quite manage that.
So, I am starting with her
dressing/vanity table.

The vanity is one that I have had
for many years.
It came with a cute little stool.
It needs a little pillow for her little tushy.
On the dressing table is a little box
that I made ages ago.
It was my version of a little
covered jewelry box that I covered in a sweet
pink cotton and trimmed with lace,
back in 1996.
I am sure that I found the directions in the library
in one of those Dollhouse Miniature books back then.
Do not remember the name of the book,
but would like to find it so I can
make some more.

The necklace
is just a little strand of beads that is stuffed part
way out of the box.
The little white plastic box with the
pink lid -  I glued a small romantic picture on top.
I believe that it belonged to Barbie.
The silver looking object is suppose to represent
perfume in a fancy  expensive bottle.
Just beads.

The wig stand was just a quick fix
and is my own design.
I inserted a toothpick thru the
neck of a rubber/plastic doll head.
Then I stuck it thru the middle
of a small wine cork.
Took a small piece of matte ribbon
and glued it to the cork.

You might recognize the wig.
It was Daisy's hair before she got a new hair-do!
I was very surprised to see that her hair just
popped off of her head without tearing apart!
The wig and the head look good on the
vanity table though.

The hat pin holder was also made from
directions found in a miniature dollhouse
library book back in 1995.
Forgot the name of that book also.
If I find those directions I will give the
source here for you.

This is just a small overview of her apartment
thru a window.
I still have not figured out how this plan
came about.
You can not see everything so individual pics are
coming.
I just love the windows.

Another view thru a window took great.
These pics are few and far in-between.
They are hard to capture.
Here you can see some of the 'Petit Point' rugs!

 Another pic thru a window.
A little bit of white to see!
I love white!
White is always so clean.
This pic is taken from the window beside
the bed.
I have been debating
about hanging a cabinet in the kitchen.
Not sure if I like the kitchen turned like this,
but it sure does look good thru
the window.
The white screen hides Daisy's
dressing table.

In this pic I removed the dressing screen divider to show
you a better view of the vanity.
The yellow that you see is the ponytail
of Daisy's wig.

A dress hangs on the inside of the
armoire.
The white lace dress that I made hangs on
the outside.

Another pic thru the window beside Daisy's bed.
I angled the camera
to show the little breakfast area.
The living area gets changed around a lot.
In this pic, the 2 chairs are a little far away
from the little sofa.
This is a good view.

I think I have already shown you this pic.
Sorry for the repeat.

This pic shows a side angle of the kitchen
against the
brick wall. This pic was also taken
thru a window.
Daisy does not cook much, so no need to
fancy up the kitchen with plates and pots.

A closer pic of little table and chairs
thru a window.

Some of the eating area and living are is shown here.
Do not be surprised if the next time you see
this, that it would have changed again.

 The eating area.
I need to make chair pads among other things.
So much to do and little time to do it in.
Oh well those are another project
waiting to get done.

Looking back in thru the window from by the bed.
I moved the living room chairs to the
fireplace and placed the sofa closer to the door.
I can not decide which looks best.

Here is the main entry into the apartment.
The door opens and closes.
There is the
window beside the bed with a reddish-looking
table that holds empty gold picture frames
and a doll.
Daisy loves dolls!
The little doll was bought from the
Hallmark store.
She is small and was made by Maud Humphrey Bogart.
The actor Humphrey Bogart's mother.
I have several
other bigger ones made by her but they are too big
to go into the dollhouse.
I keep checking the internet for more of them.
Anyway I have had her every bit of
15 years.

I still need to put photo's in those bare frames.
This view was taken by the kitchen.
There is still room to put
more stuff in this room.
But Daisy does not know what yet.

A view by the kitchen yields the small living area.
I was checking to see if I liked this
arrangement
before putting anything up on the wall.
I do like being able to move everything around.
Ooo a better view of the rug in the living area!

A good view of the bedroom area from the vanity.

 This is Daisy's dressing screen.
A pair of white lace
stockings are casually draped over it.
A satin white bodice
that I made eons ago hangs on a little hanger.

Behind the bed I placed a slat and painted it white.
It does look better and now you cannot tell the
difference between the 2 wallpapers.
A closer view of the bed.
The original mattress that came with the bed is still here.
It is flat and pink.
Needs a new mattress though.
Instead of tossing it I draped a cotton rectangle doily
over it.
The pillows  are pink with little applique's sewed
over it.
I did not want to go out on fixing the bed up
because I love the look of the faux wicker.
It is plain and simple.

Ever since I made this dress it has been hung in
many areas.
The hanger is one of 10 that I own.
I found them in the scrapbooking
department at one of the craft stores a long time
ago. They were on sale and at a very good price.
Finally able to get to use them.

Here is another little dress that always
hangs from Daisy's bed.
Several times I
tried hanging it up somewhere, but
always end up putting it back here.
It is very soft made from a flannel print.
Anyway I did not make this dress although
it would probably be easy enough to make.
This dress is an old dress that used to
belong to little cheap dolls I think.
White shoes are also tiny.
One day I will decorate them up.

 Daisy collects dolls.
I have had the doll in the corner
for many years.
I do not know who made these dolls.
You can find these dolls on the net still
being sold on eBay.

The little Hispanic doll I found at the
thrift store not to long ago.
I just had to add her to Daisy's collection.

 One of Daisy's little purses.

Better picture of the 2 dolls.

The glass cake container sits on top of the counter
in hopes of a cake to go inside.
The sink area was not a counter for a sink.
A sink was needed, so I cut a hole in the counter
and put in a little plastic thing to represent
a sink.
I never glued it in so I can change it later
if I want.
The 2 taps are dollhouse supplies.

Daisy was expecting company later for some
coffee, but they cancelled at the last minute.

 Another view of the kitchen.

A close up of the bakers rack.
On the top shelf is the
pincushion that I made from a small ceramic shoe.
This pincushion shoe seems to do a lot of
raveling!
Hehehhe

Daisy's curio cabinet is not full yet.
It only has
one item on the inside and it is glass.
Not sure you can even see it.
The little
carousel on top is small and just the perfect
size.
However, it will not fit inside
of the curio cabinet.
The little brass looking horses move around.
It is Swarovski crystal.
 Bought this along with a
Swarovski crystal violin at the Hallmark Store many
years ago on separate occasions.
I do not know if they still sell them or not.
But they are so cute.

I placed a picture on the wall with tacky wax.
I made the house fire screen
from a good sturdy piece of cardboard
a long time ago back in the mid 90s
I drew the little houses on paper.
I cut them out, then scored and bent the
cardboard into shape.
Lastly I painted it in 3 different colors.
The windows were tiny windows that I cut out
from somewhere.
The doors are the same.
I drew the signs onto the houses also.

I like my house fire screen.
It helps give
Daisy's apartment a little bit of whimsy.

The little chair looks lonely by itself. Perhaps I
need some little pictures on the wall beside it.

Looking in thru the eating area window towards
the front door.
The little umbrella stand is Reutter Porcelain.
As of yet I do not have any umbrella's to
put in it.

A close up of the fireplace.
It is unpainted and in its raw state.

I am glad that on some of the pics you
can see the pocketbook rugs.
The black goes so well with the pink.

Daisy is glad that she
lives up high enough that no one can see in
thru her windows.
I bet she would not like me
the "Peeking Tom" that I am!

Another look inside thru the bedroom window.
Sorry for some of the brick blur.

A better view of the 2 little dolls.
As you can see in this
pic - the bed is in a different area.
This was taken when
I was trying to figure out how I wanted to lay off the
apartment.
I am glad that nothing in this apartment
is glued down permanently.

This pic is when I started arranging the bed on this
side of the room.
A better pic of the little dress.

The rug under the table is a small doily. It has raised
roses on it. I think it is vintage.
Waiting for a friend to pop in!

The door is open here so I can get a wider view.

The little door under the sink opens up to store
some extra kitchen stuff..

Here - you caught Daisy trying to tidy up her
kitchen!
This is not Daisy's real hair - its another wig.
Soon, I will peel it off of her head and place it on
another wig stand.

A view from the bed into the living area.
Today was extra sunny in the apartment.

A view of the entire right side of the apartment with
the main door open.

Peeking in thru the windows again!
Another view into the bedroom and the living
area of Daisy's apartment.
I was hoping that the
brick on the outside looked somewhat real.

A glare-y photo taken from the bedroom window again.
The white you see on the edges are the white window
frames.

A look in thru the window from the dressing area with
the dressing screen removed.

Same window as above just taken at a different
angle. Taken before the dolls were put on the little
sofa.

I hope you liked Daisy's apartment.
Thank you for visiting me.
Please come again!!
