DOLLHOUSE - THE VAN BUREN - DEMOLISHING

Hello Everyone!

Soon the first of the year 2013 will be here
and we will begin another chapter
of our lives.
I wish all of you the very best
that it has to offer!

My holidays has been full
with family and - after they leave I am
too sleepy to do anything.
Have you ever heard
of Rip Van Winkle - well that's me.
Just call me Mrs. Rip Van Winkle!
Hehehe!

I would like to thank all of the new
followers that will accompany me on
this journey forward.
Planned are some
new stuff that I hope you will try and
will like.

Also there will be more Giveaways coming
in a few weeks from now so keep looking!

I have been working on the VAN BUREN
DOLLHOUSE.
It has changed a lot!!

This is the Beginning Work.
I tore out all of the
electrical tape from every room in the house.
It was a BIG mess!
Take a look at the pics!

I could not stand the 3rd floor stairs because I
could not see that front window.
My hubby tore it out.
The good
thing is - is that it did not tear up the floor!
I had to saw out the
black door (you see it on the table).
This piece was located
at the very top of the house.
This miniature dollhouse wood is very dried out!

I used my flashlight to look in the doors under the stairs
and nooks and cranny's.
This picture was found face down behind the second floor
staircase deep down in the crooked step.
It fell out
when I hit the house a couple of times.
These girls are so cute!
These sisters must have owned the dollhouse!
Maybe they are all grown up now.
I don't know?
There is not a date or any
names on the back of the photo.
I hope they see this
posting so I could give the picture back to them.

Love you all,
Thanks for stopping in!

Beautiful Presents!

Hello Everyone! How are you?
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My
house was full. I always combine
Thanksgiving and Christmas together.
Our Christmas tree is put up in our
bay window again because it is the only
place to put it. The decorations are not
many this year. We are sticking to a color
theme. I will show pics on my remake blog.
I have been very busy. There is so much
to show you and I am running behind.
I try not to blog so much so that you
can find the giveaway.

I would like to thank all of the new followers
to my blog. I hope you enjoy it and do try some
of the tutorials.

DO NOT FORGET TO SIGN UP FOR THE
GIVEAWAY!  The 200 followers is approaching
fast!

This week I wanted to show you what the beautiful
ASCENSION sent to me!
I ordered a witchy teapot and she sent me all of these
very adorable things!
Among the items is a cute ghost cake, a pumpkin
teapot with cups. These precious cups have a slice of
lemon in them. Their detail is remarkable!!
More teapots - a witchy teapot, a santa man, and a
beautiful teapot with grapes on the side.
The bowl with handle
is filled with treats. So darling! And best of all
she sent to me 2 cute candles in pumpkin
candlesticks. I have to admit it was after I took
these pics that I realized they were candlesticks!
Permelia has a special place for these in her apartment.
I love them all!
Thank you so much Ascension!!
I am sorry about the pics. They do not display her
talents to the fullest like I would like.
Why doesn't a camera last long - mine seems to
be going on the blink. My pics used to be clear
and now even with new batteries they are not.
Enjoy the pics!

Merry Christmas!
Many hugs, Conny

Apartment Daisy - Daisy with BARBIE HAIR!

Hello Everyone!
Thank you for your lovely comments.
You are just wonderful!
Would like to remind everyone about
the GIVEAWAY - PLEASE SIGN UP!
If I have not already became a follower
of your blog - it is because I cannot find
you! Please email me and give me your
link!
This week I am showing you
THE NEW DAISY!
Yep - she has changed again.
I love the way that Daisy has changed.
Her hair is silky-soft!!
I was wanting
a new modern look with the hair.
I did not use viscose or any of the
other types of hair.
I love my thrift store here!!
I went there specifically to see what
BARBIE'S they had.
Their Barbie's
are always so nice and clean! So I bought
one of them and headed for home.
Barbie had so much hair!
After scalping
her - I still have enough left to do another
wig!
And so I hope you like the results as much
as I do!
This is a close-up. Of course it does get
in her eyes.
I think she needs a barrette to hold back
the hair.
New look - new dress!!

 I love her new look!
She even has a new matching hat!

Maybe I got carried away - but I
put tons of hair on her head!

 Daisy's side profile!
She is happy to show you
her new purse too.
I think she likes being a blonde!

 Isn't this hair lovely!!
And it was already curled.

Here it is without the hat.
Oops! her slip is hanging!

She needed a new purse also to match
her new dress and hat and of course
the new slip!

Daisy's hat as seen from the top.
Thank you for visiting me once again!

Apartment Daisy - BATHTUB WATER

I had to search for this stuff, forgot
where I had put it.

Daisy's bathtub green water
was this gel stuff that I had bought.
at A.C.Moore craft store.
The black spiders are plastic.
It was cheap.

It came in 3 different colors.
I used the green color for Daisy's tub
cause it matched.
It smelled like green apples!

All of these were scented.
I never opened up any of these,
so I do not know what they smelled like.

Thanks for stopping by!

Apartment Daisy - RE-DECORATED - WITH A BATHROOM

Hello Everyone!
Seems like it has been forever since
I last blogged. I sure do hope that
this Giveaway ends soon because I
have more things to get rid of!
First I would like to say to all of
the new followers.
Thank you for visiting me and
WELCOME TO ALL!
Also those that have not signed
up for the giveaway - SHOULD DO
SO!
And I also wanted to say:
HOW SUPRISED I WAS THAT
DOLLHOUSE WORLD
NOVEMBER 2012 , ISSUE 242
PUBLISHED MY APARTMENTS
AGAIN!!
I WAS SPEECHLESS AND SO
PROUD TO BE HONORED TO
BE SEEN IN THEIR MAGAZINE!!!
THANK YOU DOLLHOUSE WORLD.
Also I would like to say that I
can not find some of your blogs!
So please if I have not became your
follower yet - please leave a comment
so I can find you!
I have been so so busy! Please forgive
me for not visiting a lot of your
blogs. So sorry. I have been trying to
organize my sewing room...again!
Also I have been working on the
Van Buren Dollhouse as well as
Re-decorating ALL of the apartments
with WALLS, BATHROOMS and KITCHENS!
As I get each apartment neared to completion
I will show them to you.
Daisy's re-decorating was started first.
It
is finished, just lacks a few things.
Surprise! I did add some curtains!!
I did not want anything that was stuffy
to be in this apartment.
This one bedroom apartment has a light
feel to it and I wanted to keep it that way.
After
all only Daisy lives here. And yes I have changed
Daisy again.
And no doubt I will change her
several more times until I am satisfied with her.

I decided to start with the bedroom. I stole the
linen from Permelia's witch apartment.
It looked
better here with a quilt instead of with the witch.
The quilt I sewed together over 15
years ago.
Am still surprised that it has not
yellowed any.
Her vanity has a chair now instead
of a wicker wire stool.
And now there is a
mirror hanging above found from a cosmetic pack.
I want to decorate the
mirror but I am not quite sure how I want to
approach that.

These curtains and the matching bedding were made
from my unused dinner napkins.
The curtains are
simple. NO HEMMING and NO SEWING.
All I did was cut tiny plastic
KNITTING NEEDLES
the size of the INSIDE of the window.
Most of these
knitting needles that I will now call rods stuck great
with tacky wax.

Anyway I cut each curtain panel a little longer
than the window from the napkin that had the hem.
I then frayed the edges to give it a fringe and just
draped it over the
curtain rod. So I can pull the
curtain panels up or
down by just pulling the fringed valance or the
bottom hem. I also used fray check
on the sides of
each panel so they would not fray.
Will look better for years to come
than using glue.
Fray check lasts a long time.
I do like how the light outside the windows give
a evening type of feel to the bedroom.

Here is the curtains from the outside windows.
My pics are hard to take because so much light is
coming thru my bedroom windows.

 Here is the entire bedroom.

The wall behind the bed is only a little higher
than the bed. I still like open-ness in the apartment
so I tried to keep that feel. The closet is not yet
completely stocked.

This is a better view of Daisy's bed. Much more
coordinated.

The other side of the bedroom is Daisy's
living area. Still using her black petit point
rugs!

The furniture was just moved aside to show the
area.  Just a few things on her mantel.
Ooo there is her leather checkbook!
A little yellow plastic doll and a picture frame.

There will be no curtain here at this window.
I like it bare. Here is the
pink dress that I made that poor Daisy can not
wear!

Here is Daisy with her new dress. Sorry that she
is not paying any attention to you! She has her
mind on something else.
I will take better pics of her later to show you.

Daisy got lonely and thought she
needed a companion. You might remember that
this cute little Bishon puppy was a gift from my
friend Catherine. Daisy named him Ami.
Ami is french for friend. Isn't he so cute!!
I named him that because my daughter named
her Bishon Ami and this is to represent him.

Sweet Daisy has a new kitchen!
It fit so well in this space. She has cabinets
now. And there is still room to put more. Daisy did
not want to tell you but she does not enjoy messing
up her clean kitchen. So mostly she eats out!!
My grand daughter Elise spray painted this plastic
kitchen set for me. It came from a Barbie house.
I forgot where I acquired the pink framed
mirror at.
Its frame is plastic. It fit so good in this spot that
I hate to move it. Believe I will keep it forever.

I made the little circular dining table
from a toilet paper tube. I did not want
the table top to be too small so I used an orange
juice lid to make it bigger.
Then I covered it with pretty pink fabrics.
It will hold a few plates
and silverware on it. I want to make napkins and
maybe re-do those chairs or slipcover them.
But I
almost hate to because the red goes well in the
apartment.
Yet, the chairs are a little dark. Will change them
later.

Here are the curtains behind the table and chairs.
The concept is the same as the bedroom cutains.
The only thing different is I have
added lace to both
edges of the panels.
These curtains will also slide
up or down on the rod.
The curtains match the tablecloth.

For the kitchen window I wanted to make a
little type of greenhouse.
I have contemplated,
but can not make up my mind, if I want to keep
it like this, or pop out that window, and
make a
greenhouse on the outside of the window.
However I am not good at building so this little
fantasy might not materialize.
It might have
to stay like this. The metal doggy dish came from eBay.
Am glad that it is off of the floor so that
spider or bugs can not crawl
into his food or water bowls.

This is the outside of the kitchen window.
Had to take a pic that was dark so you could
see the pots!

This part is my fave!! Out of all of the tubs
I owned, this one looked the best.
I want to put
some plants hanging down from the top of the window.
As of yet I do not know, what style of curtain,
that I will put here.
I pulled the kitchen out so
you could see the bathroom better. I wanted you
to see the bottom of the curtain.
The bathroom will be hard to see once the kitchen
is put back against the sink.
There is no wall here to divide the
kitchen from the bath room.

This pic shows you the top of the curtain. It is
held in place to the ceiling with just
tacky wax. The canopy is a type of cheese-cloth
bag that I cut the bottom off.  I debated about
putting a door or a curtain.
But it is not needed. Daisy does not get much company.
Whichever I do
you will not be able to see in the bathroom
so for now I will just keep thinking about it.

I keep turning the toilet to the wall
and then back again. Maybe I should
put a curtain here so that no one
peeks!
NAH!!

The mirror hangs on the back of the
kitchen with tacky wax. I wonder if
Daisy knows that he razor is
in the sink? Sorry for the blur.

This is the top part of the canopy on the
ceiling. That bag drapes so nicely! The
tub and canopy were made for this space.

Yes, the tub has plastic draped over it for a reason.

Instead of bubbles, I just wanted the inside to
look like Daisy was filling the tub up with her
favorite bath salts called Green Apple.
Boy, it smells up the entire apartment with the
aroma of apples!!
I did not want the green stuff to dissolve away,
but I am sure that in a few months it will.
I enjoy looking at it!

The little cubby between the sink and the
toilet is so cute.  Almost a secretive place.
I hope you liked Daisy's newly decorated
apartment.
Thank you for visiting me.
Please come again!
Many hugs and kisses to you all!
Conny
